Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (cold, diced)
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 1 pound Breakfast sausage (ground)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold diced butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to incorporate the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Gradually add the milk, stirring with a fork until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuit rounds.

Step 6

In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease and let the sausage cool slightly.

Step 7

Place a small amount of cooked sausage and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of half the biscuit rounds. Top each with another biscuit round and gently press the edges to seal.

Step 8

Arrange the stuffed biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.

Step 10

Allow to cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy!
