Ingredients

  • 4 pieces sausage links
  • 2 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons nutmeg (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the sausage links. Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Step 2

While the sausages are cooking, core and slice the apples into 1/4-inch wedges, leaving the skins on for added texture.

Step 3

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the apple slices and sauté for 3–4 minutes until they begin to soften.

Step 4

Drizzle the honey over the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to coat the apples evenly and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing them to caramelize.

Step 5

Return the cooked sausages to the skillet, nestling them among the apples. Cover the skillet with a lid and let everything warm through for 2–3 minutes.

Step 6

Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve immediately as a standalone dish or alongside creamy mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
