Ingredients

  • 500 grams Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 whole Oranges
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 50 grams Pecans (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts by cutting off the stems and halving any large sprouts.

Step 2

Peel and mince the garlic. Zest one of the oranges, then juice both oranges and set aside.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and once hot, place the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in the pan. Cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes until golden and caramelized.

Step 4

Season the sprouts with salt and black pepper, then toss to cook evenly for another 5 minutes.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, orange zest, honey, balsamic vinegar, and minced garlic to create the sauce.

Step 6

Pour the sauce over the sprouts in the skillet and stir to coat evenly. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes until the liquid slightly reduces and the sprouts are tender.

Step 7

Toast the pecans (if using) in a separate dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Step 8

Transfer the saucy Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Garnish with toasted pecans for added texture if desired, and serve warm.
