Ingredients

  • 500 grams fresh green beans
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 units garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1.5 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Wash and trim the green beans, cutting off the ends. Set aside.

Step 2

Mince the garlic cloves and grate the ginger. Keep both prepared for the sauce.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the water to create a slurry.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, add the green beans and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they start to blister and become tender yet crisp.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 7

Pour in the soy sauce mixture and toss the green beans until well coated.

Step 8

Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet while stirring. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the green beans.

Step 9

Remove from heat and transfer the saucy green beans to a serving platter.

Step 10

Optional: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for garnish before serving. Enjoy!
