Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 slices Cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 4 Onion slices
  • 8 slices Pickles
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 4 tsp Mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until well incorporated. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 even portions and form each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Step 4

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates or pan to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare burgers, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F. For medium, cook to 145°F, and for well-done, cook to 160°F.

Step 6

If adding cheese, place a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt.

Step 7

Toast the burger buns for 1-2 minutes either on the grill or in a toaster oven, if desired.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty, a slice of tomato, onion slices, pickles, and your preferred condiments (ketchup and mustard). Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Sat Burgers!
