Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Fresh sardines
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 1 piece Lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 piece Baguette

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

Clean the sardines by removing their heads, guts, and scales. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, zest and juice of half a lemon, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

Step 4

Place the cleaned sardines in a shallow dish and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 5

While the sardines are marinating, slice the baguette into thin rounds and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle the slices lightly with olive oil and toast in the preheated oven for 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 6

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sardines for 2-3 minutes per side until they are golden and cooked through.

Remove the baguette slices from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.

To assemble the tapas, place one sardine on top of each baguette slice. Garnish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
