Ingredients

  • 10 pieces Fresh mint leaves
  • 0.25 cup Fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Lime zest
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Rum (optional)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Sweetened condensed milk

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, creating a simple syrup. This should take about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Remove the saucepan from heat. Add the fresh mint leaves to the syrup and let it steep for 10 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.

Step 3

Strain out the mint leaves and allow the syrup to cool completely to room temperature.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cooled mint syrup, fresh lime juice, lime zest, and rum (if using).

Step 5

In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Step 6

Gently fold the whipped cream and sweetened condensed milk into the lime mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Step 7

Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Step 8

When ready to serve, scoop the frozen mojito mixture into bowls or glasses. Garnish with additional mint leaves and lime slices if desired.
