Ingredients

  • 200 grams vermicelli (glass noodles)
  • 500 grams beef (sirloin or stew meat, cubed)
  • 4 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely grated
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium carrots, julienned
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1

Soak the vermicelli noodles in warm water for 10 minutes or until softened. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the cubed beef and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the sliced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until translucent.

Step 6

Stir in the julienned carrots and shredded cabbage, cooking for another 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.

Step 7

Return the browned beef to the pan. Mix well with the vegetables.

Step 8

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and water. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan.

Step 9

Season with black pepper and salt. Stir well to coat all the ingredients.

Step 10

Add the softened vermicelli noodles to the pan and toss gently to combine with the sauce, meat, and vegetables.

Step 11

Reduce the heat to low and let the dish simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the flavors.

Step 12

Serve hot and enjoy your flavorful Sapa Sui!
