Ingredients

  • 6 pieces large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chives (optional, for garnish)
  • 0.25 teaspoons paprika (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover them by about 2 inches.

Step 2

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3

After 10 minutes, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool completely (about 5 minutes). This makes peeling easier.

Step 4

Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under running water to remove any stubborn shell bits.

Step 5

Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the yolks into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside on a serving platter.

Step 6

Mash the yolks with the back of a fork until they are crumbly and fine.

Step 7

Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the yolks. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy.

Step 8

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollows of the egg whites using a spoon or a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Step 9

Garnish the deviled eggs with optional chopped chives and a light sprinkle of paprika for added color and flavor.

Step 10

Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
