Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Salmon fillet (skin removed)
  • 1 piece Cedar plank (for grilling)
  • 0.25 cups Soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour prior to cooking to prevent it from catching fire on the grill.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, vegetable oil, fresh lemon juice, salt, and ground black pepper to make the marinade.

Step 3

Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish or a zip-top plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the salmon is fully coated, then cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 4

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F to 400°F).

Step 5

Remove the soaked cedar plank from the water and pat it dry. Place the marinated salmon fillet skin-side down on the cedar plank.

Step 6

Place the cedar plank with the salmon on the preheated grill. Close the grill lid and cook for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F.

Step 7

Carefully remove the cedar plank from the grill using tongs or heat-proof gloves. Allow the salmon to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve the cedar plank salmon with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad.
