Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup Salsa verde
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Sliced tomato
  • 0.25 cup Additional salsa verde

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, salsa verde, panko breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties.

Step 4

Cook each patty for about 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are golden brown. Avoid pressing down on the burgers as they cook to retain their juiciness.

Step 5

Toast the hamburger buns lightly in a toaster or skillet if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by layering a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked turkey burger patty on top.

Step 7

Drizzle a spoonful of additional salsa verde over each patty, then cover with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful Salsa Verde Turkey Burgers!
