Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down, and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and opaque. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the lemon juice, chicken broth, and capers. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the fillets. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm through.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the dish with fresh parsley.

Step 8

Serve the salmon warm with the lemon caper sauce drizzled over the top.
