Begin by ensuring that the salmon is properly chilled. Slice the salmon fillet into very small cubes, about 0.5 cm in size. Place the diced salmon into a medium mixing bowl and set aside in the refrigerator to keep it cold while preparing other ingredients.
Juice the lime and set the juice aside.
