Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 4 pieces brioche buns
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger to make the marinade.

Step 2

Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the salmon. Let marinate for 15 minutes.

Step 3

While the salmon marinates, prepare the Asian slaw. In a large bowl, combine shredded green cabbage, julienned carrot, and red bell pepper.

Step 4

In a separate small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds and set aside.

Step 5

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and cook the marinated salmon fillets for 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked through and caramelized. Remove from heat.

Step 6

Lightly toast the brioche buns in the same skillet or on a toaster until golden brown.

Step 7

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Step 8

Place a cooked salmon fillet on each bun and top with a generous portion of the prepared Asian slaw.

Step 9

Finish with the top half of the brioche bun and serve immediately.
