Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry sheet
  • 100 grams Salami
  • 60 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper, freshly ground

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry sheet to ensure even thickness.

Step 3

Layer the salami slices evenly across the puff pastry, leaving a 1 cm (1/2 inch) border along one edge.

Step 4

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the salami, followed by the chopped parsley.

Step 5

Season the filling with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Step 6

Starting from the edge opposite the border, tightly roll the puff pastry into a log shape. Seal the edge with a bit of beaten egg to ensure it holds.

Step 7

Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 equal pieces (approximately 1 cm/ 1/2 inch thick).

Step 8

Arrange the pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each piece.

Step 9

Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the remaining beaten egg for a golden finish.

Step 10

Bake the pinwheels in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

Step 11

Remove the pinwheels from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Step 12

Serve warm as an appetizer or snack and enjoy!
