Ingredients

  • 1 head Green cabbage
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Butter

Directions

Step 1

Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage, then rinse and pat dry. Cut the cabbage into quarters, remove the core, and slice into thin strips.

Step 2

Dice the bacon into small pieces. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy, stirring occasionally, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the cooked bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the rendered bacon fat in the skillet.

Step 5

Add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft and fragrant.

Step 6

Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and stir well to coat it in the bacon fat and butter. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and starts to brown slightly.

Step 7

Season the cabbage with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir in the cooked bacon pieces, mixing everything together.

Step 8

Allow the cabbage to cook for another 2 minutes to meld the flavors. Adjust seasoning to taste if needed.

Step 9

Remove from heat and serve immediately as a side dish or main course. Enjoy!
