Ingredients

  • 1 lb Large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 6 tbsp Unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tbsp Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 loaf French bread (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

Step 2

Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Sear the shrimp in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until just pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.

Step 4

Deglaze the skillet with white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the wine reduce by half, which should take about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and lemon juice. Let the mixture simmer for another minute.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low and begin adding the cold cubed butter, a few pieces at a time, whisking constantly to create a smooth sauce. Continue until all the butter has been incorporated.

Step 7

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm the shrimp through.

Step 8

Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately with warm French bread to soak up the sauce.
