Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Beef round steak
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 10.5 ounces Cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large Onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the beef round steak into 4 to 6 serving-sized pieces and set aside.

Step 2

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Dredge each steak piece in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess flour, and set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sear the steak pieces on both sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Work in batches if necessary. Transfer the browned steak pieces to the crock pot.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, whisk together the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and combined. Pour the mixture over the steak in the crock pot.

Step 5

Scatter the sliced onion over the top of the steak and gravy mixture.

Step 6

Cover the crock pot with a lid and cook on low heat for 8 hours, or until the steak is tender and infused with the gravy's flavors.

Step 7

Once the cooking is complete, taste the gravy and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper if needed.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a complete meal.
