Ingredients

  • 12 oz Spaghetti
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 15 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp Fresh basil, chopped
  • 0.25 cups Pickles, diced (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring frequently.

Step 3

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and black pepper.

Step 4

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and optional pickles if desired. Simmer the sauce for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and well combined.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until the cheese has melted into the sauce.

Step 6

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat the noodles in the sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.

Step 7

Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh basil or Parmesan cheese if desired.
