Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 250 g ground pork
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. You should have approximately 16-20 meatballs depending on size.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the meatballs to the skillet in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes per side, until browned all over. Remove the seared meatballs and set them aside.

Step 6

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring it to a simmer over low heat.

Step 7

Gently place the seared meatballs into the marinara sauce, making sure they are submerged.

Step 8

Cover the skillet with a lid and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 20-25 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through.

Step 9

Serve the meatballs hot, topped with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired. Pair them with spaghetti, crusty bread, or enjoy them on their own.
