Ingredients

  • 4 whole Red bell peppers
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 minced Garlic cloves
  • 4 whole French bread rolls
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 8 leaves Basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic glaze

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

Step 2

Slice the red bell peppers in half, removing the seeds and stems.

Step 3

Place the pepper halves cut-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Step 4

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the peppers and roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the skins are charred and wrinkled.

Step 5

Once the peppers are roasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes. Then, peel off the charred skins and slice the peppers into thin strips.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and minced garlic. Mix well and set aside.
