  • 3 whole garlic bulbs
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices prosciutto
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small loaf French baguette

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the tops off the garlic bulbs to expose the cloves. Drizzle each with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, wrap in aluminum foil, and roast in the oven for 40 minutes until softened and caramelized.

Step 2

While the garlic is roasting, dice the yellow onion. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
