Ingredients

  • 8 pieces fresh figs
  • 4 slices prosciutto
  • 60 grams Gorgonzola cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Wash the figs and pat them dry with a clean towel. Use a sharp knife to make a cross-shaped incision at the top of each fig, cutting about halfway down into the fruit.

Step 3

Cut the prosciutto slices in half lengthwise. Gently wrap half a slice of prosciutto around the base of each fig, securing it firmly.

Step 4

Crumble the Gorgonzola cheese into small pieces. Using your fingers or a small spoon, carefully stuff a small amount of Gorgonzola into the top of each fig, pressing it gently into the incision.

Step 5

Place the prepared figs on the lined baking sheet. Drizzle the honey evenly over the figs and then lightly brush them with olive oil.

Step 6

Sprinkle the figs with fresh thyme, cracked black pepper, and a small pinch of sea salt.

Step 7

Roast the figs in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the prosciutto becomes crispy, the cheese is melted, and the figs are tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 8

Remove the figs from the oven and let them cool for 2 minutes before serving. Plate the figs on a serving dish and drizzle any remaining juices from the baking sheet on top.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy this delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors!
