Ingredients

  • 4 pieces trout fillets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 piece lemon, sliced into rounds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Heat should be at about 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together the unsalted butter, minced garlic, fresh parsley, fresh thyme, and lemon juice until well combined. Set aside.

Step 3

Brush both sides of the trout fillets with olive oil, and sprinkle evenly with salt and black pepper.

Step 4

Place the trout fillets skin-side down on a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil or a grill-safe pan. Place lemon slices over the fillets.

Step 5

Dollop the herb butter mixture evenly onto each fillet, ensuring it is spread across the surface.

Step 6

Transfer the foil or pan with the fillets onto the preheated grill. Close the grill lid and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the trout flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 7

Carefully remove the trout from the grill, and serve immediately. Garnish with additional chopped parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, if desired.

Step 8

Pair with a side of roasted vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
