Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork baby back ribs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 roll aluminum foil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, ground mustard, and cayenne pepper.

Step 4

Generously rub the spice mixture over both sides of the ribs, ensuring even coverage.

Step 5

Place the ribs on a large sheet of aluminum foil, meat side up, and drizzle with the apple cider vinegar. Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil to prevent any juices from leaking out.

Step 6

Place the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened (about 10 minutes). Set aside.

Step 8

After baking, carefully remove the ribs from the foil and place them on a baking rack set over a clean baking sheet. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).

Step 9

Brush a generous layer of barbecue sauce over the ribs. Return the ribs to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.

Step 10

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for 5 minutes, and cut into individual portions.

Step 11

Serve the ribs with extra barbecue sauce on the side and enjoy!
