Ingredients

  • 40 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 150 grams Shrimp, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 piece Egg, beaten
  • 500 milliliters Vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.

Step 2

Set up a workstation with the wonton wrappers, a small bowl of water, and the pork and shrimp filling.

Step 3

Take one wonton wrapper and place it flat on the surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 4

Using your finger, wet the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal it tightly and remove any air pockets.

Step 5

For a decorative twist, bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and pinch to secure, forming the classic wonton shape.

Step 6

Repeat the process until all the filling is used, placing the assembled wontons on a tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 7

In a deep pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat to approximately 180°C (350°F). Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature.

Step 8

Carefully add a few wontons into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 10

Serve the wontons immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy dipping sauce. Enjoy!
