Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 head Romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 0.5 cup Pickles, sliced
  • 0.25 medium onion Red onion, sliced thinly
  • 2 buns Hamburger buns, diced into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the diced hamburger bun pieces on a baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Toast in the oven for 6-8 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool.

Step 3

While the beef and croutons are cooling, prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together yellow mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and sugar until smooth. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 4

Chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl. Top with the cooked ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes, pickles, and red onion slices.

Step 5

Add the hamburger croutons on top of the salad.

Step 6

Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving and toss lightly to combine.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy this fun twist on a cheeseburger!
