Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1.75 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1.25 cups Whole milk
  • 1 whole Large egg
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Butter or oil (for greasing the pan)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Step 2

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 3

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into the well and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with butter or oil.

Step 5

Pour approximately 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Use the back of a spoon to gently spread the batter into a round shape if needed.

Step 6

Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.

Step 7

Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the skillet as necessary between batches.

Step 8

Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
