Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large pot over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the diced onion until soft, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic, ground beef, and Italian sausage to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, fresh basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, chopped parsley, and 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and lay the noodles flat on a clean towel to prevent sticking.
Spread 1 cup of meat sauce evenly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Place 3 cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture evenly over the noodles.
Top the ricotta layer with 1 cup of meat sauce, followed by 1 cup of shredded mozzarella.
Repeat the layering process (noodles, ricotta, sauce, mozzarella) two more times.
For the final layer, place 3 noodles on top, spread with the remaining meat sauce, and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil (spray the underside with cooking spray to prevent sticking). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
