Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine the raisins and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes to soften the raisins.

Step 2

Once the raisins are plump, use an immersion blender (or transfer the mixture to a food processor) and blend until smooth. Return the puree to the saucepan.

Step 3

Stir in the honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the mixture is well combined and begins to simmer.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water until smooth to create a slurry.

Step 5

Slowly pour the cornstarch slurry into the saucepan while stirring constantly. Continue to cook the sauce for 2–3 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 6

Add ground black pepper and salt (if using) to taste. Stir well and remove from heat.

Step 7

Serve warm alongside slices of baked ham or drizzle over the ham before serving.
