Ingredients

  • 300 grams penne pasta
  • 2 pieces chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 400 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 teaspoon salt (for boiling pasta)

Directions

Step 1

Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a large pot. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water and cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions (usually around 8-10 minutes). Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season them lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and finely chopped onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
