Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup Heavy cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 2

Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a plate or tray.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the meatballs and set them aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is golden brown and bubbly.

Step 5

Gradually pour in the beef broth while whisking to prevent lumps. Add the Worcestershire sauce and continue stirring until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 6

If desired, stir in the heavy cream for a richer gravy and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7

Return the meatballs to the skillet, ensuring they are evenly coated in the gravy. Simmer for 5 minutes to heat through and meld the flavors.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
