Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cauliflower florets
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups Milk
  • 0.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 cups Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

Step 3

Slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture thickens slightly.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.

Step 5

Add the cooked cauliflower florets to the skillet and gently toss to coat them in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Step 6

If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top and stir until melted and incorporated.

Step 7

Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley if using, and serve immediately.
