Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Sub rolls or ciabatta bread
  • 16 pieces Fully cooked meatballs
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 pieces Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder

Directions

Step 1

1. Preheat a panini press or stovetop grill pan to medium heat.

Step 2

2. Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

3. In a microwave-safe dish, heat the fully cooked meatballs according to package instructions.

Step 4

4. Slice the sub rolls or ciabatta bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.

Step 5

5. Spread a thin layer of warmed marinara sauce on the inside of each roll.

Step 6

6. Place 4 meatballs inside each roll and top with a generous spoonful of marinara sauce.

Step 7

7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the meatballs, and add 2 fresh basil leaves to each sandwich.

Step 8

8. Melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder. Brush the outside of each roll with the garlic butter mixture.

Step 9

9. Place each sandwich on the panini press or grill pan. Close the press or press down lightly with a spatula. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Step 10

10. Remove the sandwiches from the heat and allow them to cool for 1 minute before slicing in half. Serve warm and enjoy!
