Ingredients

  • 4 slices ham slices
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Place a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.

Step 2

Add the ham slices to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly browned. Remove the ham slices from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 3

In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the cranberry sauce, grated ginger, orange juice, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and let the cranberry ginger sauce cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly.

Step 6

Return the ham slices to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top to coat. Let the ham warm through in the sauce for 2-3 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from the heat and serve the ham slices immediately, topped with extra sauce and chopped fresh parsley if desired.
