Ingredients

  • 4 heads Baby bok choy
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon White sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Thoroughly wash and dry the baby bok choy. Trim the ends and slice each head in half lengthwise.

Step 2

Mince the garlic cloves and set them aside.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 5

Place the bok choy cut-side down in the skillet. Let it cook for 2 minutes without stirring, allowing it to brown slightly.

Step 6

Flip the bok choy and add the soy sauce, sesame oil, water, and salt. Stir gently to coat the bok choy evenly with the sauce.

Step 7

Cover the skillet with a lid and let the bok choy steam for 3-4 minutes, or until the stems are tender and the greens have wilted.

Step 8

Remove the lid and stir one more time to ensure the sauce is well-distributed.

Step 9

Transfer the bok choy to a serving dish and sprinkle with white sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
