Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Peel the russet potatoes and slice them thinly into 1/4-inch rounds. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for 8-10 minutes until tender but not falling apart. Drain and set aside.

While the potatoes are boiling, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika, and cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and set the beef mixture aside.
