Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Add the pumpkin puree, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Whisk until fully combined.

Step 5

Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out into an even layer.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.

Step 9

Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes. Then use the parchment paper overhang to lift the dessert out of the pan.

Step 10

Cut into 16 squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
