Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup Whey protein powder
  • 0.25 cup Oat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened applesauce
  • 0.25 cup Honey or maple syrup
  • 2 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup Dark chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, whey protein powder, oat flour, baking powder, and salt. Ensure there are no lumps.

Step 3

In another bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, honey or maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can make the brownies tough.

Step 5

Fold in the dark chocolate chips gently into the batter.

Step 6

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing them into squares.

Step 9

Serve the protein brownies warm or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
