Ingredients

  • 2 racks Baby back ribs
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups Your favorite BBQ sauce

Directions

Step 1

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it hasn't already been removed. Use a knife to loosen one corner of the membrane, then grip it with a paper towel and pull it off completely.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar to create a dry rub.

Step 3

Rub the dry seasoning mix evenly over both sides of the ribs.

Step 4

Add the water and apple cider vinegar into the bottom of your pressure cooker. Place the trivet or a steaming rack inside the pressure cooker.

Step 5

Cut each rack of ribs into 2 or 3 smaller sections so they fit easily into the pressure cooker. Arrange the rib sections standing up on the trivet, with the meaty side facing outward.

Step 6

Seal the lid on your pressure cooker and set it to high pressure for 25 minutes.

Step 7

Once the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.

Step 8

Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

Step 9

Brush the ribs generously with your favorite BBQ sauce on all sides.

Step 10

Optional: For caramelization, place the ribs under a preheated broiler for about 5 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly charred. Monitor closely to avoid burning.

Step 11

Serve the saucy ribs immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
