Ingredients

  • 500 grams large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 200 grams snow peas, trimmed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water to create a sauce. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the prawns to the skillet, season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until the prawns turn pink and are fully cooked. Remove the prawns from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 4

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.

Step 5

Toss in the snow peas and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, keeping them crisp and vibrant green.

Step 6

Return the prawns to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and evenly coat the prawns and snow peas.

Step 7

Drizzle the sesame oil over the dish, give it a final toss, and remove from heat.

Step 8

Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
