Ingredients

  • 500 grams Prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 Green chili, slit
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon (or to taste) Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Step 3

Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook the spices with the tomato-onion mixture for 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Add the prawns to the pan and stir well to coat them evenly with the masala.

Step 7

Cover and cook the prawns for 5-7 minutes or until they are cooked through and turn pink. Stir occasionally.

Step 8

Sprinkle the garam masala over the prawns and add the curry leaves. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Step 9

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.

Step 10

Serve hot with steamed rice or flatbread.
