Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 3 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 40 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tsp chili oil (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tsp honey (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground pork, shredded cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well to combine.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean work surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture to the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with a small amount of water using your fingertip, then fold the wrapper in half to form a semicircle, pressing tightly to seal the edges. Pleat the edges if desired for a traditional look.

Step 4

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling until all the pot stickers are assembled.

Step 5

In a large, non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Step 6

Add a batch of pot stickers to the skillet, flat side down, ensuring they do not touch each other. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 7

Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid to create steam. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the wrappers are tender and the filling is cooked through.

Step 8

Remove the lid and allow the remaining water to evaporate. Transfer the pot stickers to a plate and repeat with the remaining batches, adding more oil to the pan as needed.

Step 9

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, and honey to create the spicy dipping sauce. Taste and adjust as needed.

Step 10

Serve the pot stickers hot with the spicy dipping sauce on the side. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
