Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground pork
  • 4 sheets Puff pastry sheets
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 2 cloves, minced Garlic cloves
  • 1 medium, grated Carrot
  • 100 grams, shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 large, beaten Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the ground pork and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up into small pieces, until browned and cooked through.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated carrot to the skillet. Cook for another 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Step 4

Stir in the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Step 5

Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 equal squares, giving you 16 squares in total.

Step 6

Place 2 tablespoons of the pork and vegetable mixture onto the center of each square. Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling.

Step 7

Brush the edges of each pastry square with beaten egg. Fold the pastry into a triangle, sealing the edges by pressing them together with a fork.

Step 8

Transfer the filled pockets to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with more beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Porky Pockets Rsc!
