Ingredients

  • 300 grams ground pork
  • 400 grams firm tofu
  • 150 grams watercress
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the tofu by cutting it into 2-centimeter cubes. Set aside.

Step 2

Rinse the watercress thoroughly under cold water to remove any grit. Trim the stems and leave the leaves whole. Set aside.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Set aside.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until fragrant and translucent, about 2 minutes.

Step 6

Add the ground pork to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-6 minutes.

Step 7

Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the flavors.

Step 8

Gently add the cubed tofu to the skillet, carefully folding it into the pork mixture so the tofu does not break apart.

Step 9

Pour the cornstarch slurry into the skillet and stir gently. Allow the sauce to thicken, about 2 minutes.

Step 10

Add the watercress to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, just until the leaves wilt but remain bright green.

Step 11

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat.

Step 12

Serve hot with steamed white rice or as a main dish on its own. Enjoy!
