Ingredients

  • 1000 g pork shoulder
  • 3 medium onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 medium red bell peppers
  • 2 medium green bell peppers
  • 10 wooden skewers

Directions

Step 1

Cut the pork shoulder into 1.5-inch cubes and place them in a large bowl.

Step 2

Peel and slice the onions into rings and add them to the bowl with the pork.

Step 3

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the pork and onions.

Step 4

In a small mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, paprika, cumin, coriander, black pepper, and salt.

Step 5

Pour the marinade over the pork and onions. Mix well to ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Step 6

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Step 7

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Step 8

Cut the red and green bell peppers into 1.5-inch pieces, similar to the size of the pork cubes.

Step 9

Thread the marinated pork, onion pieces, and bell peppers onto the skewers, alternating between each ingredient.

Step 10

Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes, rotating them occasionally to ensure even grilling and char marks.

Step 11

Check for doneness by slicing into the pork; it should no longer be pink in the center and juices should run clear.

Step 12

Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
