Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork loin chops
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 pieces Apples (such as Granny Smith, peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork loin chops with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature of 145°F). Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate, tenting with foil to keep warm.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet. Let it melt.

Step 4

Add the sliced apples to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring gently, until they begin to soften.

Step 5

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and brown sugar over the apples and stir to coat evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized.

Step 6

Drizzle the lemon juice over the apples and stir well to balance the sweetness.

Step 7

Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them among the apples. Spoon some of the cinnamon-apple mixture over the top of the chops. Cook for 2 more minutes to reheat the pork and meld the flavors.

Step 8

Transfer the pork chops and apples to plates for serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh thyme sprigs for a pop of color and herbaceous flavor.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your Pork Loin Chops with Cinnamon Apples!
