Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoons Sliced scallions (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 3

Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside on a plate, tented with foil to keep warm.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the orange juice, soy sauce, and honey to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let the mixture come to a simmer.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the sauce to thicken it. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is glossy and coats the back of a spoon.

Step 7

Return the pork chops to the skillet along with any accumulated juices from the plate. Spoon the sauce over the chops and let them simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm through and absorb some of the sauce.

Step 8

Remove the pork chops from heat and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with sliced scallions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Step 9

Serve the pork chops hot with the soy orange sauce drizzled on top. Pair with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
