Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 2 tablespoons Miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup Chicken stock
  • 1 sprig Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 3

Once the oil is hot, place the pork chops in the skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside on a plate, covering loosely with aluminum foil.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Deglaze the skillet by pouring in the red wine. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let the wine simmer for 2-3 minutes to slightly reduce.

Step 6

Stir in the miso paste until fully dissolved, then add the honey, soy sauce, and chicken stock. Stir well to combine.

Step 7

Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it slightly thickens.

Step 8

Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Let them simmer in the sauce for 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 9

Remove from heat and transfer the pork chops to serving plates. Drizzle with the remaining sauce and garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.

Step 10

Serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
