Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Bone-in pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 3

Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and sear them for 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Reduce heat to medium, then add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 5

Stir in the Dijon mustard and maple syrup, mixing well.

Step 6

Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon to deglaze it. Let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 7

Stir in the heavy cream and allow the sauce to simmer for another 3-4 minutes until it slightly thickens.

Step 8

Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 9

Remove from heat and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired, and serve hot with the maple mustard sauce spooned over the top.
